macOS companion for the Tonverk sampler

See everything on your Tonverk card. Lose nothing.

TonVault is a Mac app for Tonverk owners. It scans your SD card, shows every sample with waveform and metadata, flags the problems Tonverk won't warn you about, and keeps verified backups of your work.

What it does

Four jobs, done carefully

TonVault does the boring, important things a Tonverk owner needs and nothing else. It reads your card, it never reorganizes it, and every action that looks destructive is a reversible copy on your Mac.

01

Your card, finally legible

Every sample gets a waveform, sample rate, bit depth, mono or stereo, length and location. Search the whole card and find that sound from three months ago without renaming a single file.

02

A health check in plain language

Tonverk fails silently. Files that aren't 48 kHz play back degraded, presets remember absolute paths that quietly break, a deleted sample just goes missing. TonVault checks the whole card and explains every finding: what it is, why it matters, what to do.

03

Duplicates, safely

Find duplicate samples and reclaim space without risk. Cleanup candidates move to a quarantine folder on your Mac, never off the card without a verified copy first, and you can put any of them back.

04

A verified backup, not a hopeful one

Your whole live set lives on one SD card. TonVault makes versioned backups and checksums every file after copying, so you know the backup is complete before you trust it. Restoring is just as boring, which is the point.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Does TonVault ever delete or change anything on my card?

No. TonVault never deletes anything on the card. Duplicates and cleanup candidates are moved to a quarantine folder on your Mac after a verified copy exists, so every action is reversible. It reads your card, it doesn't reorganize it.

Does it read my projects, patterns or parameter locks?

No. TonVault is a companion for the material around your music, not an editor of the music itself. It never opens or changes Tonverk project data.

Which audio files does it understand?

It reads the formats Tonverk plays, including WAV, AIFF, FLAC, M4A and CAF. It shows sample rate, bit depth, channels, length and size, and flags files that aren't 48 kHz, since those play back with reduced quality on the Tonverk.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No. TonVault runs entirely on your Mac. There is no account, no cloud, no tracking, and it works offline.

What does it cost?

TonVault is $1.99, a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads.

Is TonVault made by Elektron?

No. TonVault is an independent companion app and is not affiliated with Elektron.

Who makes it

I'm Jarl. I make small, focused Mac apps for musicians, including It's mono, yo! and It's 404, yo!. I own a Tonverk and built TonVault for my own card first. Like my other apps it runs entirely on your Mac, works offline, and has no account, no tracking and no subscription.
